Open Course: Scrambling
For fell walkers aiming to step into more exposed terrain & climbers with aspirations of being a Mountaineering Instructor.
This course focuses on safe & efficient adventures on steeper ridges & mountainsides. We'll cover planning & use of a scrambling guidebook, techniques for fluid movement, then rope skills such as chest coils, belaying, placing trad gear, & building anchors.
Throughout the 2 days we'll aim to bag some grade 1-2 scrambles as we hone our skills. Then we finish with one of the regions' classic grade 3s.
Here at EAMS we do everything possible not to let our clients down. This course has two spaces. But in the event you are the sole client the course will run in a slightly shortened format (think one and a half days, rather than two). This means no waiting to see if your course is going ahead, no confusion, no cancellations or disappointment, once you book on you know your course will be running!
