Open Course: Learn to Lead
For top-rope climbers, indoor leaders & 'seconds' ready to start leading 'trad' routes.
This course takes a wide-ranging approach to building your skills for your first trad routes. We'll cover all the safety aspects you might expect: belaying for trad, placing gear, building anchors. We'll also draw on our background as a MTUK qualified Development Coach to explore the technical, tactical & mental side of leading to get you moving fluidly & confidently over real rock.
We'll employ a steady progression of drills from floor-based to mock leads protected by a top-rope, aiming to have you tick your first lead(s) before the end of the course.
Here at EAMS we do everything possible not to let our clients down. This course has two spaces. But in the event you are the sole client the course will run in a slightly shortened format (think one and a half days, rather than two). This means no waiting to see if your course is going ahead, no confusion, no cancellations or disappointment, once you book on you know your course will be running!
