Challenges
The mountains of the UK offer a fantastic arena for testing yourself physically. I offer four renowned walking challenges of increasing difficulty all perfect for team-building or raising money for your favourite charity. Challenges will be led by qualified Mountain Leaders with working knowledge of the route.
Before booking please get in contact to talk through your aims. There's far more to each of these Challenges than just the information below & having worked professionally on these trails for 10 years I'm happy to talk through each of them to ensure its the Challenge you need for your team.
Ulswater Way | 36km | 1000m+ ascent | 9hrs | £40pp
The easiest of our Challenges but certainly not easy. This low-level route involves a 36km traverse of Ulswater in the Lake District & ascent of at least 1000m. The relatively short distance & ascent plus the availability of early exits back to Pooley Bridge via the ferry make this an ideal first walking Challenge.
Edale Skyline | 32km | 1700m ascent | 10hrs | £45pp
A classic horseshoe route around the beautiful Hope Valley bagging summits & finishing on the Great Ridge with Lord's Seat, Mam Tor & Lose Hill. One of my all-time favourites of the many trails I've hiked in the UK & situated in the heart of the Peak District.
Yorkshire Three Peaks | 41km | 1650m ascent | 12hrs | £49pp
One of the UK's best-known Challenges & many people's first. This long circuit nears marathon distance & ticks Yorkshire's three highest peaks - Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside & Ingleborough - on the way. A classic & a big tick.
Wasdale Skyline | 29km | 2650m ascent | 12hrs | £65pp
Undeniably hard & bordering on brutal. The Wasdale Skyline is a beast. Uphill fitness is required to deal with the huge amounts of steep ascent & running fitness to cover the distance between the peaks in less than 12 hours. The trail is committing, summits 12 Wainwrights & finishes on the UK's highest mountain Scafell Pike.
