Open Course: Learn the Ropes
For beginners stepping into the world of climbers, or indoor climbers stepping on to real rock.
This course focusses on the skills required to become a trustworthy 'second' & follow more advanced 'leaders' up trad routes. We'll cover all the basics of harness & helmet, knots & belaying, technique & tactics for real rock, plus connecting to stances & abseiling.
As this course develops we'll have the option of staying on shorter single pitch routes or moving up one of the Lakes' classic multipitch routes. We'll also have the option of looking at more advanced skills laying a foundation for leading in future.
Here at EAMS we do everything possible not to let our clients down. This course has two spaces. But in the event you are the sole client the course will run in a slightly shortened format (think one and a half days, rather than two). This means no waiting to see if your course is going ahead, no confusion, no cancellations or disappointment, once you book on you know your course will be running!
